Quest for the Mahogany Ship

questforthemahoganyship@gmail.com

There is good evidence that the site of a long lost buried sailing ship has been discovered in the state of Victoria in Australia.

The shipwreck is known as the Mahogany Ship, because some of the people who saw it before it was buried by wind blown sand said it was the colour of mahogany. It has been one of Australia's greatest mysteries for more than a century.

Using historical resources combined with aerial archaeology the probable location can be pinpointed in a rugged sand dune on the Shipwreck Coast. Rob Simpson goes on a scenic trip of the Warrnambool area and explains the historical and aerial evidence. Clips of local Australian wildlife are shown along the way.

The archaeological site is 80 metres (88 yards) inland from the surf.
