Tokyo Hidden Spots: Hidden Nature In Tokyo

Tokyo has many hidden gems, you just have to explore off the beaten path and here is another hidden area Japan travel guide to add to the Tokyo Hidden Spots series :)

Okutama (奥多摩) is a mountainous region located along the Tama River, in the far west of Tokyo. It takes under 2 hours by train to get to Okutama Station from central Tokyo so it makes a perfect day trip from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Okutama offers a wide range of things to do like hiking, camping, kayaking and many other outdoor activities.

It also offers beautiful scenery and Japanese onsen (hot springs) where you can relax.

Places I went in order:
Okutama Station
Lake Okutama
Mugiyama Floating Bridge
Moeginoyu Onsen Hot Springs
Hatonosu Kamameshi Restaurant
