Can Do Services - Downey Trash Cart Take-Away

Over a year ago, the City of Downey renewed their contract with Calmet Services - and required that residential customers get brand new carts. You've seen some of the rollout on my channel several months ago, and I'm sure you were expecting this. Yep, that would be Can Do Services taking away the oldies. If you were sad to see lots of old carts, primarily Rotos, get taken away forever in my "Artesia Trash Cart Removal" video, then you're about to feel that way again. You'll see the crew removing old carts from part of the Monday route, using the cluster method; and this is how it works:

1. While waiting for an empty truck, whether company-owned or a rental from Enterprise, the crew will gather everyone's old carts and put them in one huge cluster.

2. Two guys hop in the back to stack carts, while the others load them into the truck.

3. In some cases, a couple or few crew members will scout ahead of those loading, and will begin making clusters further down the way.

During the last truckload, I focused on two Ottos - a blue & a green. Both are supposed to be used in the unincorporated LA County areas of Oceanview, La Rambla, and West Carson. You can tell by the green lid that Calmet rubs off those area names so that the cart can be handed out to other areas they serve. Even the "888 CLEAN-LA" County HHW hotline is removed. Though the cart guy did a pretty lackluster job with the blue haha. Overall, after some serious editing & clip trimming, I'm satisfied with the final product.
