OMG!!! Fully Loaded Halloumi Cheese Fries, London Street Food by Oli Baba's in Camden Lock Market.
✓ OMG....Can you believe Chips that are actually made of Cheese!!! Not Cheesy fries.....but deep fried Halloumi Cheese Fries. Heaven on a plate!!!
For anyone who hasn’t tried Halloumi before; Halloumi is a hard and salty cheese, which when heated or fried it becomes soft on the inside and crispy on the outside (instead of simply melting).
On this busy stall in Camden Market, they cut the cheese into strips of chips and then deep fry them until golden brown .
The result is a moreish snack bursting with flavour, it's crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside, the addition of the sauces, syrups and garnishing elevates the taste factor to a higher level; it's sweet, salty, tangy, zesty, minty all at the same time - it's a wonderful flavour fusion and it definitely achieves the Umami factor.
After frying, the fries are:
* Given a generous drizzle of Za’atar Yoghurt.
* A good squirt of Pomegranate Molasses Syrup.
* Sprinkled with freshly cut Mint.
* Topped off with Turkish Chilli Flakes and Pomegranate seeds.
* Chilli Oil Sauce.
This is delicious Vegetarian Meat-free Levantine restaurant quality cuisine at street food prices........You may call this the Don Dada of Street Food!!!
The founders of this stall developed this culinary delight after being inspired during a six month long trip to the Middle East.
Since being featured on Culture Trip's (@theculturetrip) website & Facebook page in May, Oli Baba now have even longer queues - rest assured that the wait is well worthwhile.

They are located in the KERB market section area right next to the scenic Regents Canal.
Oli Baba’s are the original creators of halloumi fries on the London Street Food scene.
Note: Some people call Halloumi "Squeaky Cheese" because of its texture and slightly distinctive squeak when you eat it.
