[PREMIERE] Mattia Pompeo - La Belle Hortense [Récits de Mars]

Italian DJ and producer Mattia Pompeo is building a solid reputation, with releases on Sincoapt, Atmosphere, DAYS like NIGHTS, Time has Changed and of course here on Récits de Mars.

He returns with his full debut EP, and the title track 'La Belle Hortense' is a gritty breaky slab of filth. Gnarly sounds meet wonkiness, and melodics range from bright and tinkly to downright dirty. Big pads bring light before the bassline takes us back in to deeper and darker , a solid and accomplished piece of goodness.

Label boss Several Definitions steps up on remix duties, and takes us in to 4 to thr 4 territory. Utilising the mayhem and musicality from the original, but giving the rework its own slantm yet being very respectful to Mattia's track.

To round off the EP, we venture back in to Mattias mind, as we find 'Rampart'. Again shade and light feature, as we have the warm key changing riff, while a moody bass blasts through. Hot!
