Can you improve the efficiency of a 12v thermoelectric cooler with extra insulation and a W1209 digital thermostat?

This is part 2 of my video about setting up the cooler box for my minivan camper. This part covers wiring up the digital thermostat that will control the thermoelectric cooler and how to set the target temperature and other parameters on the W1209 digital thermostat.

I am using a 27 liter Koolatron thermoelectric cooler and I have already added some insulation and enclosed the cooler in a plywood box to match the rest of my kitchen boxes, You can see those here:
