The line between wildlife photographers and videographers is becoming increasingly blurred. With HDSLR video now being offered in just about every camera manufactured since 2012, it’s no wonder that more still photographers are getting into video. But one major obstacle for us wildlife focused creatives has been a suitable tripod head that can handle long lens work for both video and still photography.

Whereas the freedom of movement found in a gimbal head is ideal wildlife photography, there is no substitute for a fluid head when it it comes to video. For those visual artists who are shooting both, the long standing practice has been to carry both types of tripod heads. I did this for years.
