RECYCLED / UPCYCLED.
An indepth tour of my "DIY selfbuild Iveco Daily CamperVan" . As many of you recall from the beginning, I bought an "salvaged caravan" and within two weekends I totally gutted / pillaged its contents to provide parts for this vanbuild.

THE VAN.
In no doubt with in my mind! The 2005 LWB Iveco Daily with over 317.000 miles on the clock (one company owner) I bought, was ready for the scrap yard!

Over an period of a year, I completely renovated / restored / recycled the van, saving it from the scrap yard.
The second year it took, was to actually build the campervan you see today.

THE COST.
Having not sat down and actually worked out the cost of the build, an rough calculation of £15000 springs to mind.

THE WEIGHT.
With only having the payload of "around" 1180kg, I concentrated my efforts in using light weight materials. However! I did place the van upon the weigh bridge (fully loaded all tanks were full, two people & a dog), to find that the van was over weight! "😬" (but well within the permissable Axle design weight!). So I set about (January 2021) loosing 250kg in Weight by unloading tools, spare wheel, remodeling the bedroom, removing obsolete wiring looms / cables, and unnecessary triditus that I carrying within the van.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to gain access to my local weigh bridge (thanks to lockdown) to re-weigh my van, so I'm unable to share the true weight of my van at the present time of writing this.
However! The plan is, and being in contact SV TECH, I can uprate the vans weight limit. Just the small hurdle of changing the "Van with windows" to "Motor Caravan" status upon the V5 vehicle document, (and we all know! How that's going with the DVLA at the present time! "😬"... )
