Pike River A Failure to Learn
The Pike River Mine in New Zealand exploded on the 19th of November 2010, killing 29 men, 2 men miraculously survived. A Royal Commission into the disaster cost $10 Million Dollars and took almost 2 years. The findings of the Royal Commission are included in the 2 volume report. This presentation aims to communicate the findings of the Royal Commission. Read Chapter 20 of the Royal Commission, it is titled A Failure to Learn. This video aims to ensure the lessons from Pike River are more widely available and that another generation of miners and their families don't have to suffer the grief because we didn't learn the lessons from Pike River and every other mine disaster which has gone before us.
