NIHONBASHI Tokyo: Center of Japan's history, culture & commerce Virtual Tour (4K ASMR)

Today we are taking a walk through Nihonbashi, or "the bridge of Japan". Nihonbashi is the center of Japan's history, culture and commerce. Not only that, Nihonbashi is the point from which all distances are measured to and from Tokyo. Whenever you see signage noting distance to Tokyo, Nihonbashi is what it is pointing to.

Nihonbashi was formerly a samurai town, lined with residences of feudal lords and merchants, and was truly a thriving metropolis. That still is the case today with prominent businesses and corporations based here, such as the Bank of America, the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Bank of Japan.

There is a great collection of centuries old traditional businesses that still operate today offering exquisitely crafted hand made goods and is perfect for souvenir shopping. Some of the best restaurants in Tokyo can also be found here too.

If you have a day to spare in your Tokyo itinerary, don't hesitate to give Nihonbashi a visit - it's within walking distance of Tokyo Station so access is easy.
