A simple lag drill for more clubhead speed.
Step 1 - You need to grip the club softly to be able to get the increase in wrist motion.
Step 2 - In the downswing transition, try to get the club to clip your trial shoulder on the way down.
Step 3 - Start to decelerate/stall the shoulders through impact and release hard with the wrists. The shoulders need to decelerate for the speed to be passed on to the release through the kinetic chain.
The downswing should be a race to release. You should never be trying to hold the lag angle through impact.
If you’re not creating enough lag, then the transition is at fault, not impact.
