"Ripley's Believe It or Not!" December 1984 Season Two Episode - Jack Palance

From December 1984 and Season Two --- “Ripley's Believe It or Not!,” was an instantly-classic documentary television series which aired on ABC network from 1982 to 1986. Loosely based on the travels and discoveries of oddity-hunter Robert L. Ripley, this show looked at the people, places and events that made up the stranger side of human history. Henry Mancini and His Orchestra provided the theme song.

"Church of St Joan of Arc in Orléans, France; George Washington and Adolf Hitler's teeth; Pygmies human teeth sharpening; artist of teeth; daredevil museum in Niagara Falls, Ny; Japanese elimination contest; the fortress at Masada; the lost temple of Akhenaten; underwater ship graveyard in Chuuk Lagoon; insects used in Maceration (bone) for museums; Hell money rituals in Hong Kong; man grinds beef oil and predicts tornadoes; candle wicks."

Co-hosts included actress Catherine Shirriff in season 1, Palance's daughter Holly Palance in seasons 2 & 3 and then singer Marie Osmond in season 4.

One of my all-time favorite TV shows which I watched religiously during the early 1980s every time it aired. I enjoyed just about everything in this show. The stories were great, the music was fantastic, and who can beat Jack Palance. I really like the balance of history and science subjects and the little small factoids before commercial breaks. I have many episodes in my collection, and hope to be able to present some of my favorites here on my channel - especially ones with great historical content, along with the “strange and unusual…”

A great episode and for a multitude of reasons, this little slice of 1980s TV has stuck with me ever since first seeing it and I watched it many times from my original VHS.
