Rep. Lynn in Support of HB 396

Representative Bob Lynn registers his support of HB 396 during the Judiciary executive session. "This really isn't rocket science, it's law."

HB 396 is a straightforward bill that preserves the state's ability to differentiate between biological sexes in areas such as athletic competitions, prisons, restrooms or locker rooms.

Schools and other public entities currently falsely believe they must use gender identity alone—without regard to whether someone has even received medical transitioning—to separate restrooms and other facilities.

HB 396 would have provided critical clarification in New Hampshire law by specifying that public entities may, but are not required to, use biological sex, independent of gender identity, to separate spaces like restrooms, athletic competitions, prisons, or locker rooms.
