😇COLOGNE REVIEW: Cherubim by Felis Umbra Parfums😇

“Cherubim” by Felis Umbra is one of those scents that really surprised me the more I wore it. While I’ll admit there are a few other offerings from Felis Umbra that I personally enjoy more, this one absolutely has a place in the lineup and brings something very different to the table!

Right away, the backbone of this scent is the Tolu Balsam and cedar. Those two notes are incredibly present throughout the wear and honestly define the personality of Cherubim. The balsam gives off this rich, warm, sweet-spicy aroma with hints of vanilla, dark fruits, florals and a peppery edge that feels deep and masculine without becoming overwhelming. Paired with that cedar, it creates this bold woodsy base that sticks with you the entire time.

The Styrax also comes through nicely and adds even more spice and warmth to the scent profile. It blends into the balsam beautifully and really reinforces that peppery, resinous character that makes this cologne stand out. Then sitting in the middle of all of that is the Davana, which adds this fruity woody sweetness that helps smooth everything out. It balances the spice and woods perfectly while still keeping the scent masculine and refined.

Every now and then I’ll catch little hints of the whiskey and bourbon vanilla floating through, and that subtle warmth is AWESOME. It never goes full boozy, but it gives the scent a comforting richness that works extremely well with the woods and spice.

Interestingly enough, I personally don’t get a ton of the cardamom, cinnamon, candied almond, praline or vanilla individually. I think those notes are working more behind the scenes to soften the sharper edges and round the scent out rather than taking center stage themselves.

Overall, I’d give Cherubim a solid 7/10. It may not be my absolute favorite from Felis Umbra, but it’s still a really well-crafted masculine cologne with a unique spicy-woodsy character that absolutely deserves attention. Today I paired it with “Blackbeard” by Rugged Pirate Beard Co and the two complemented each other PERFECTLY.

And seriously… if you haven’t checked out Felis Umbra yet, DO IT. They are absolutely killing it in the masculine cologne space right now, and Cherubim is another great example of the quality and creativity they’re bringing to the table.
