Grounded 2 Episode 35 – Over the Wall at Last, Wasp Ambushes and Beetle Battles

Episode 35 is all about pushing past natural limits and paying the price for impatience. The session kicks off with another clash against an O.R.C. Bombardier Beetle dangerously close to my base, reinforcing why these corrupted variants are such a constant threat once they start roaming familiar territory. With safety briefly restored, I expand my production again by building another Drying Rack, preparing for a steady supply of new berries and other resources that need long-term processing.

The main objective of the episode is finally crossing the massive wall that’s been blocking progress for so long. After a lot of careful stairway construction, I manage to reach the top and look down into the next zone. From above, it seems like I won’t need too many stairs to descend thanks to a nearby ledge—but curiosity and overconfidence get the better of me. I drop down before the route is fully secured and immediately regret it.

Following a hose below the wall leads straight into a wasp encounter. What starts as a manageable fight quickly spirals when a second wasp joins in, turning the skirmish into a lethal aerial nightmare. The fight ends badly, forcing a reset and highlighting just how unforgiving vertical exploration can be in Grounded’s backyard. Determined not to get trapped again, I return to building and reinforce the stairways to ensure I always have a reliable path back over the wall.

On the way, I orchestrate another insect showdown by pitting an Orb Weaver against a Ladybug. Letting the backyard’s ecosystem do the heavy lifting pays off once again, and I sweep in afterward to loot both fallen combatants. The episode closes the same way it began—with more Bombardier Beetle fights near my base—underscoring that even while exploring new territory, home defense remains a constant concern.

Between major construction milestones, risky exploration, failed experiments, and relentless combat, this episode marks a turning point as the wall is finally conquered and the next area starts to open up.
