1980 & '81 Williams FW07 (B/C) at Spa (Acceleration & Fast Flyby & Start-Up)
Two epic Formula One cars developed by one of the best F1 constructors, the Williams 1980 FW07B and 1981 FW07C during their race in the weekend of the Spa 6 Hours!
At the Spa-Francorchamps 6 Hours 2014 we had the honour of witnessing two Williams FW07 F1 cars. Both from a different year and slightly different in construction. But these differences were certainly not noticable in the sound this car produced which was astonishingly beautiful. The car makes a popping sound when letting go of the throttle and shifting down. You can hear this very clearly in the shots where it shifts down at the end of the straight.
We also never really noticed how well they sound until we came home and started looking through the footage which allows you to focus on different sounds, while still being captured in the same video.
The engine that puts forward this car is a Naturally Aspirated 3.0L DFV V8 Ford Cosworth F1 engine that is mounted in the middle of the car and puts out 490 bhp at 10 750 rpm. The engine on its own weighs around 147 kg. The car in total weighs around 587 kg. This results in 835 bhp per tonne.
We're sorry for our inactivaty lately. We normally upload more than one video a week but these are pretty busy days for us. We should be returning to a normal uploading schedule in about a month.
We hope you enjoyed the video, consider giving it a like or leaving a comment if you did! Maybe even share it with some friends who would love this too!
Thanks for watching!
