Crisis in the entertainment industry | Saheefa Jabbar Khattak | TEDxKinnaird

Dramatic storytelling in Pakistan is going through a creative epidemic; with regurgitation of overused tropes regularly being greenlit by major production studios in the country. Saheefa Jabbar, a local model and actress, sheds light on the matter by giving a brief overview of the history of dramatic arts in the country, pointing out the moments where the arts have derailed into darkness and foretells the potentially disastrous situation which needs to be considered and corrected. Through her own experiences of acting in plays and working with creatives in the industry, she tries to work out instances in storytelling that require careful thought and deliberation before they are actually produced. (Videography is done by HAC Films). Ms. Saheefa Jabbar Khattak is a versatile woman who has tried her hand in many domains and is a Pakistani model turned actress. After receiving an award for Best Emerging Model at Lux Style Awards and Hum Awards, Khattak ventured into acting by playing the leading lady in the 2018 television serials Teri Meri Kahani and Beti.
