*Surprise Medical Drug Test was conducted on Rowdy Sheeters / Drug Consumers by the Task Force, HNEW and Local Police Staff*.
As per the instructions of the Sri. V. C. Sajjanar IPS Commissioner of Police Hyderabad City, today, i.e., on 09-04-2026, the Task Force, Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), organized a special drive in coordination with the local police staff. During the drive, medical tests were conducted on rowdy sheeters, trouble mongers and individuals with a history of regular drug consumption in NDPS cases, with the intention of creating awareness among drug consumers about the legal consequences they may face.
This programme was organized under the supervision of Sri. Vaibhav Raghunath Gaikwad, IPS. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force/H-NEW, Sri. Andhe Srinivas Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Charminar Zone & Sri. Iqbal Siddique Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Rajendra Nagar Zone. The tests were conducted at Osmania General Hospital, Gandhi Hospital, and Government Hospital for Mental Care, Erragadda, in coordination with the doctors.
*At Gandhi General Hospital, a total of 70 persons were tested, out of which 44 tested positive and 26 tested negative. At Osmania General Hospital, a total of 80 persons were tested, out of which 59 tested positive and 21 tested negative. At Government Hospital for Mental Health, Erragadda, a total of 89 persons were tested, out of which 86 tested positive and 3 tested negative. In total, 239 persons were tested, of 189 were found positive.*
The individuals were counselled by psychiatrist doctors regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of rehabilitation. Further, appropriate legal cases are being booked against the individuals found positive, as per law.
Hyderabad City Police Task Force and HNEW committed to taking strict action against drug-related activities while also helping those affected to recover through proper counselling and rehabilitation. urge everyone to stay away from drugs and support a healthy and safe community.
