Video Tutorial: How to Integrate the GameMonetize SDK with Construct 3
STEP 1: First, we add the Gamemonetize SDK file to our project. After adding the Gamemonetize SDK to the project, we locate it in the Project panel and click on it. Once we click on the SDK, we go to the "Properties" section on the left side and find the Game ID field. Then, we copy the Game ID provided specifically for our game on the Gamemonetize website and paste it into the Game ID field in our project.
STEP 2: While an ad is being shown during gameplay, the game should be paused. Both the gameplay and all in-game sound files must stop. To do this, we first need to select the option in the Gamemonetize SDK to pause the game when an ad is shown. Then, to make sure the game resumes once the ad finishes, we need to enable the resume option.
Use the following settings:
* Set time: 0 → to pause the game
* Set time: 1 → to resume the game
This part is important:
You must use "Trigger Once"; otherwise, the actions will keep running repeatedly and your game may suffer from optimization issues.
STEP 3: In the Construct 3 game engine, we need to locate the built-in "Audio" plugin and click on it. By default, sounds do not stop when the game is paused, so we have to handle this manually. If we don't do this, the game will pause when an ad appears, but the sounds will continue to play — which means the game audio and the ad audio will overlap.
To prevent this, go to the Timescale Audio section and make sure to select both sounds and music to be affected by the game's timescale.
STEP 4: When the Gamemonetize SDK is installed, you must set Worker Mode to "No" to ensure your game loads properly and doesn't get stuck on a black screen. If you don't change this setting, your game may fail to launch and remain on a black screen.
STEP 5: Where should ads be shown in the game, and where should they be placed? Ads can be added to buttons such as Play, Start, Retry, and Home. In fact, you can add ads to any button in the game.
STEP 6: We have successfully integrated our SDK. Now it's time to test it. Yes, the ad was successfully displayed when the button was clicked.
