Early Years in Mind: Trauma and repair webinar
As early years practitioners, we are in a unique position to support young children as they are developing a sense of their own identity and formulating their attitudes about other people. We are also in a position to recognise our own biases and challenge stereotypes so we can support and safeguard children and their families appropriately.
In this webinar, without downplaying the effects of trauma, our panel will acknowledge the realities through a lens of repair. Facilitated by the Chair, Dr Abi Miranda, the panel discuss a range of topics that highlight best practice in the context of trauma. For example, the panel discuss effective multi-disciplinary working with social workers, providing a “good enough” online service for adoptive parents, and celebrating nursery cultures that foster belonging and anti-racist practice.
This webinar is part of Early Years in Mind a free online network for early years practitioners. It provides easy to read and easy to use guidance on supporting the mental health of babies, young children and their families. The network was developed by mental health experts at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families.
