Developing in Microsoft Orleans - Dot Net North - August 2018
Microsoft Orleans is an implementation of a virtual actor framework – a way of building highly parallelised applications that can easily scale horizontally to meet dynamic demand, while keeping complexities like physical location mostly abstracted away from the developer. In this talk, Dan will explain what is meant by a virtual actor framework, how to set one up and the basics of coding, activation and persistence.
Manchester born software engineer Daniel uses Microsoft Orleans at customer data science company Dunnhumby.
Dan won best team name at Hack Manchester 2017 (he was also a runner up for his hack but is far prouder of the name).
