This piece consists of a series of gears moving in succession to explore the effect of exponential powers, and the futility of its own design.

The machine has a gear ratio of 90 trillion to one. With an input speed of two hundred revolutions per minute, the final gear will turn once every million years.

With the final gear virtually unmoving, it does not matter that it hovers over its own kill switch.

This piece was invented for life: A mechanical legacy representing the duality of art and science.
