One of the biggest companies in the world, Walmart, saw huge profits over the past 14 months, thanks in large part to the stimulus checks sent out to help struggling Americans with vital disaster relief funds.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon explained: "My optimism is higher than it was at the beginning of the year. In the U.S., economic stimulus is clearly having an impact, but we also see encouraging signs that our customers want to get out and shop."

With e-commerce blowing up over the past year, Walmart and other big box retailers have profited greatly from the various stimulus checks and plan to continue their success into 2022.

Ken Perkins, founder of research firm Retail Metrics, stated: "We expect ecommerce inroads made into grocery, consumables, and general merchandise categories to be very sticky resulting in growing digital market share gains."

Meanwhile, states across America are finally starting to see local and state stimulus funds, with many areas receiving more money than expected, which could be coming your way in the form of a regional stimulus check.

According to CNBC: “some states are using (or plan to use) extra money in their budgets to either send out stimulus-type payments, provide tax cuts or otherwise give relief to their residents.”

Katherine Loughead, a senior policy analyst for the Tax Foundation, explained: “It’s looking like most states are flush with cash and have a lot more than they anticipated. They thought they’d have a deficit.”

Michael Leachman, vice president for state fiscal policy at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, stated: “A good number of states are looking at ways to help people who have particularly struggled during the pandemic and taking steps to address inequities that the pandemic made more apparent.”

This is great news for millions of Americans, and I hope that your state and local governments can provide you with another disaster relief payment while we wait on Washington to send us a fourth stimulus check.

Finally, speaking of a fourth stimulus check, a new proposal from more than 80 lawmakers hopes to get President Biden’s support for another round of recurring stimulus checks to help the millions of Americans still struggling financially.

Leading members of the House Ways and Means Committee sent President Biden a letter yesterday, urging him to approve recurring direct payments and a fourth stimulus check.

The letter explained: “stimulus checks a lifeline for people who had their lives upended by the pandemic and said it’s imperative that relief remains available.”

It also said: "The pandemic has served as a stark reminder that families and workers need certainty in a crisis. They deserve to know they can put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads."

I completely agree with this push for a fourth monthly stimulus check, and hope that this strongly worded letter can kick President Biden into gear and get him to sign off on another round of stimulus checks to help the millions of Americans still in need of fiscal support.
