Grimsby Town Hall Denies Steven Soos Delegation

Niagara Activist Sends Strong Message to Town of Grimsby Council and Staff

Renowned Niagara activist Steven Soos is speaking out after being denied the opportunity to delegate on the state of emergency for mental health, housing, and addiction—an initiative he spearheaded in Grimsby.
In his video message, Soos calls on Mayor Jeff Jordan and Council to do the right thing and allow his delegation to proceed, stressing that residents deserve answers and real action on one of the region’s most pressing issues.
Soos, who also hosts the Advocates podcast on Facebook and YouTube, has been a consistent voice for accountability and solutions. His advocacy has reached tens of thousands across Niagara, amplifying community concerns around safe beds, provincial engagement, and local responsibility following Grimsby’s declaration of emergency.
Ironically, while Grimsby Council members boast of their photo ops and “successes” at the AMO conference in Ottawa this week, they are at the same time silencing a mental health advocate in their own backyard. Furthermore, one of Soos' scheduled guests on Advocates is none other than Ward 3 Councillor Jennifer Korstanje, set to speak to the topic of Mental Health in Grimsby.
The question remains: Will Grimsby Council stand by its declaration and its residents—or bury the conversation?
