Argentina: Vehicle carrying Maradona's body leaves Tigre residence where he died

San Isidro General Prosecutor John Broyard confirmed the death of Argentine football star Diego Armando Maradona, at the entrance of the Tigre residence where he passed away on Wednesday.

While the prosecutor announced the death of the former soccer player, a convoy of vehicles, including the van carrying Maradona's body, left the residence towards the morgue where an autopsy will be performed.

"The autopsy is carried out to reliably determine the causes of death, which will be established at the time of the autopsy, and the complementary reports, but we can tell you that the death has only natural characteristics, without any signs of violence," the prosecutor said.

The Argentine government has decreed three days of national mourning after the announcement of the death of the Argentinean star.

Maradona had recently undergone surgery on his head but had been released after a successful recovery, according to doctors and his family.
