After both attending the Air Force Academy in Colorado and going through 7 days of survival training together, the love between Melanie and Trevor started to grow. Their love for aviation and hockey soon solidified their relationship. They had a small wedding ceremony in March of 2021 with just immediate family. They finally got the chance to have a proper ceremony surrounded by family and friends at Trevor's family home in Pleasant Plains Illinois.
