Sio's Photography - The Screaming Ghost Queen of Hampton Court Palace

Let's walk or rather run through the Hampton Court Palace, just as the Catherine did, the wife of King Henry VIII .

Queen Catherine Howard, now referred to as the Screaming Queen was beheaded at the age of nineteen for adultery and treason in 1542. After she was arrested at Hampton Court, the terrified teenager broke free of her guards. She ran along what is now called the Haunted Gallery, screaming out to the King for mercy.

She never reached Henry, who was at prayer in the Chapel while guards dragged her away.

Catherine's ghost now repeats this heartbreaking journey, screaming throughout the haunted gallery.
