Feed Slack Into your Line When Fishing A Dry Fly
This week’s RIO Fly Fishing Tip shows why it is important to feed slack to your line when dry fly fishing on a lake- either when anchored, or when standing on the lake edge. Most anglers know there is a current in a river, but few apply the same thought to a lake when the "current" is wind. If you keep a tight line with a dry fly on the end, it will not fish naturally, and therefore be ignored by many trout. As Simon explains here, ensuring you feed small amounts of slack into your line in these situations will result in greater success.
