China Unveils Shenzhou-23 Space Crew, Featuring First Astronaut From Hong Kong, China | World News

China has officially unveiled the three-member crew for its upcoming Shenzhou-23 manned spaceflight mission from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. Making history, the lineup features payload specialist Li Jiaying (Lai Ka-ying), the very first astronaut selected from Hong Kong to embark on a Chinese space mission. Led by mission commander Zhu Yangzhu, a veteran flight engineer, the crew also includes spacecraft pilot Zhang Zhiyuan. Scheduled for launch to the Tiangong space station, the key objectives of the Shenzhou-23 mission encompass an in-orbit crew rotation, conducting advanced scientific space experiments, performing vital extravehicular activities (spacewalks), and executing the installation and recovery of essential orbital equipment.
