How to Test WCAG 1.4.10: Reflow (Level AA) - Easy Website Accessibility Test You Can Do

This video demonstrates how to test Web Content Accessibility Guidelines success criterion 1.4.10: Reflow (Level AA) and shows a failure due to sticky components covering the content, making it unreadable.

To test this:
1. Start with a browser width of 1280px at 100% zoom.
2. Zoom in your browser to 400% until the width is equivalent to 320px but zoomed. This represents what a low vision user might see.
3. Look for any text or controls that get cut off, overlap, or that require horizontal scrolling to read/operate.

In this case, with Real Cookie Banner version 5.2.1 there are sticky buttons (Accept all, Continue without consent, Save custom choices) that block the legal text in the banner.

This is an example of one test used in our WordPress Cookie Banner Accessibility Comparison. See how various WordPress Cookie Banner plugins compare for accessibility at https://equalizedigital.com/wordpress-cookie-banner-accessibility-lies/
