For an artist who died in 1960 when he was only 21 years old, Eddie Cochran left behind a surprising number of tracks, “C’mon Everybody,” “Twenty Flight Rock,” and “Summertime Blues,” along with other gems like “Cut Across Shorty,” all of which magnify the loss to rock & roll when Cochran died: he was a fine songwriter and he knew his way creatively around a recording studio.
