【huu】Haier Air Conditioner Outdoor Unit JAS-CS404A2 Appearance, Operation and Operating Sound

I recorded a video featuring the Haier room air conditioner “huu,” model JAA-CS404A2, showcasing the outdoor unit, its appearance, operation, and operating sound.

Haier’s air conditioner lineup in the Japanese market had previously been limited to window-type and spot air conditioners, but the company began introducing split-type room air conditioners in 2024, and this outdoor unit is the first model of that series.

The exterior features bold press lines, particularly on the top panel and front panel, which is typical of overseas manufacturers, and the “Haier” logo is prominently displayed.
I believe this is a design that has not been seen in Japan before, including OEM models.
The transparent propeller fan visible behind the fan guard is another element that gives it an overseas feel.

The housing does not feel flimsy; instead, it has a solid, rigid feel.
Weighing in at 30 kg, it has a substantial heft to it.
During test runs, I did not hear any rattling noises across the entire operating range. The unit gave the impression of being relatively quiet in operation, and overall, it felt like a well-built outdoor unit.
(The only downside was that the clamp part for the VVF cable had a crack in it from the start...)

Regarding operating noise, the high-frequency sound generated by the high-power-factor circuit (boost chopper) is somewhat noticeable. However, since high-frequency sounds are blocked by exterior walls and other structures, this shouldn’t be much of an issue as long as the unit is installed outdoors.
