Rhein-Main Air Base was a United States Air Force air base near the city of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It was a Military Airlift Command (MAC) and United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) installation, occupying the south side of Frankfurt Airport. Established in 1945, Rhein-Main Air Base was the primary airlift and passenger hub for United States forces in Europe. It was billed as the "Gateway to Europe." It deactivated on 30 December 2005.

Video recorded, reported, edited by Otis Cue Pate . Otis first came over to Frankfurt, Germany from the USA with his US Army military parents, in June of 1977. Since then he has lived in Germany off and on, but much more on then off. He and his wife Lynn have been together since November 1994. Both are Frankfurt American High School (FAHS) graduates, from the Class of 1985. F.A.H.S. was located on the Creighton Abrams Building Kaserne. Lynn, who was born in Frankfurt at the former 97th General Hospital, is also a US Air Force Veteran of 4 years.

Video captured: October 31, 2021 - on a very cloudy, breezy, and overcast day - with rain drizzel off and on... An unbelievable amount of hours of work editing had to be done to correct the video and photos. The captures were so dark and grainy because of the Sun being blocked out all day that day. Hope the footage and pixs looks alright at least. Eagles Über Alles!
