Oh my goodness, you guys!!! I am so excited. I really, really hope you will enjoy this one. Please have a look! Even if you’re not familiar with the show or simply have moved on, I think you will enjoy yourself. If I can spark an interest for it or simply make you reminisce a little bit, my work here is done. ☺️

Back in 2010, Daniel and Betty left me with a heart so full it burst. Their relationship has always been very precious to me, mostly because, funnily enough, they didn’t get to live a romance up until the very end (my own theory is that Daniel fell in love with Betty three episodes before the finale). What they had was perhaps even more powerful than romantic love. Devotion, loyalty, the deepest friendship and camaraderie imaginable. A connection so beautiful and unique on TV, I didn’t even picture them together in any other way. There was no need to have a kiss on screen to have it count and I was genuinely not hoping for something to happen. And then the 19th episode of the 4th season occurred and my Ugly Betty world was suddenly turned upside down. One look from Daniel to Betty and my shipper’s heart started beating and then stopped altogether during the finale episode. Cause of death: CUTENESS OVERLOAD. I felt elated for days after having watched it for the first time, back when I was 17. No joke. And yes, I’m weird. In other news: water is wet.

This show stayed with me ever since and I consider it to be one of the best ever made. It’s just so full of humour, colour, friendship, tolerance, such a huge amount of plot twists it honestly makes you feel dizzy. Quite a few tragedies too. And love. So much love. In fact, one of the constants throughout the show is the deepest love between the two main characters. And I am so delighted to publish a tribute to them today. I finally got a chance to get my hands on the episodes in HD and boy! Did I have fun!! I made this edit in just a few days, which is a personal record since I’m working all the time.

And I loved doing it. So, so much. I had to watch the whole series again before starting it and it was such a joy. I highly recommend it to everyone. It brightens your day.

So what I basically tried to do was to recreate the emotional impact that the final episode has had on me at the time (using words Betty said a few episodes prior which turned out to apply perfectly to it), as well as providing an insight as to who Betty Suarez was. Mostly through Daniel’s eyes. Such a wonderful character. The video shows her influence regarding Daniel’s growth as well. The culminating point of it being of course him realising his feelings for her and deciding to do something about it. The ending of the show is left open to your interpretation but as far as I’m concerned, they are endgame. Which ultimately makes Ugly Betty a very compelling love story.

The music is called “Transformation”, by The Cinematic Orchestra. A fantastic coincidence since this is what the show is about concerning those two. It’s a beautiful piece. I fell in love with it instantly. I’m sure you will, too.
