EP.5 One Kidd-Class Destroyer vs a Soviet Cruiser Group | Holding the Lombok Strait | Sea Power

In this episode of our Pacific Strike ’85 campaign in Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age, Task Group 77.3 takes on the vital optional mission Holding the Lombok Strait.

Soviet surface forces are attempting to break through the strait and attack critical Allied supply shipping. The problem is that we are given only one ship to stop them: the Kidd-class destroyer USS Scott. Standing in our way is a powerful Sverdlov-class cruiser, a Krivak-class frigate, and several additional Soviet warships.

Outnumbered and operating without backup, USS Scott must use every missile, gun, and defensive system available to prevent the Soviet force from getting through. This is one of the most difficult missions we have faced in the campaign so far, but successfully completing it could protect the Allied supply line and earn valuable additional points for Task Group 77.3.

Can one destroyer hold the Lombok Strait alone?
