Welcome to the Starfield Speculation Series, where we try to guess everything we can about Starfield before it's release in 2022! Planets in Starfield is a massive point of contention among fans looking forward to the game. Specifically, the quantity that we will explore.'

Will Starfield take a no man's sky approach featuring infinite explorable planets? Or will we have only a handful with highly detailed handcrafted worlds? Or maybe something in the middle. There is plenty to speculate about here but we can use some evidence from previous Bethesda Game Studios titles to try to make an accurate prediction as to what we might see in the final game!

We know that Starfield features interstellar travel, and we already have 3 confirmed planets in the game. These planets feature the settlements of Akila, Neon, and New Atlantis. Each of these planets are controlled by their own unique factions with their own motives and goals within the universe. But is it too much to expect to see more than just these 3 planets? And if so, how many more will there be?
