2nd ALARM Brush FIRE in Howard Beach Queens. FDNY works to douse flames in Spring Creek Park

Date: 2/29/2020
Location: Howard Beach, Queens.

A brush fire broke out in Howard Beach in a section of brush near the Cross Bay Boulevard Bridge near Spring Creek Park. NYPD & State Troopers closed the bridge while Engine companies stretched lines to supply tower ladders. Battalion Chief 39 transmitted a second alarm for additional resources. Division 13 used Tower Ladders, hand lines, the FDNY Marine Unit, and the Brush Fire Unit to eventually get this fire under control.

Units on the scene included: Engine 331, Ladder 173, Engine 285, Ladder 142, Engine 255, Ladder 107, Engine 236, Rescue 4, Squad 270, Ladder 143, Engine 293, Engine 308, Engine 294, Engine 302, Ladder 155, Engine 291.
