One of the most important moments in Starship's journey.

This footage captures the hot-staging separation during Starship Flight 9, where the Starship upper stage separates from the Super Heavy booster while still traveling at tremendous speed.

Unlike traditional rocket separations, SpaceX uses a technique called hot staging, where Starship's engines ignite before the booster fully separates. This improves efficiency and helps deliver more payload to orbit.

Why it matters:

Starship is being developed to carry humans and cargo to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Every successful stage separation brings SpaceX one step closer to building a fully reusable transportation system capable of supporting future interplanetary missions.

🤯 Interesting Fact:

At separation, the vehicle is already traveling several thousand miles per hour and is tens of miles above Earth. The entire event lasts only a few seconds, but years of engineering go into making it work flawlessly.
