Cellphone Screen Repair in the Shenzhen Markets of Huaqiangbei

On a recent visit to Shenzhen, China, Hackaday Editor Mike Szczys got to watch (and record) the process of replacing the glass on a broken cellphone screen. This goes far beyond a part swap, to delaminating the broken glass from the LCD screen and rebuilding the assembly.

This booth specializes in rebuilding screens. They will do this for customers, but they also buy phones, repair the glass, and resell them. Of course they also buy just broken screens and resell them after repair so if you bought a replacement screen for your phone and got a very low price for the part, it probably came from a booth like this one.
