This Mental Health Expert Explains: Managing Your Mind While Witnessing A Genocide [Gaza Palestine]

Dr. Lara Sheehi is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology and the founding faculty director of the Psychoanalysis and the Arab World Lab. She is co-author with Stephen Sheehi of Psychoanalysis Under Occupation: Practicing Resistance in Palestine (Routledge, 2022) which won the Middle East Monitor's 2022 Palestine Book Award for Best Academic Book. Lara is on the advisory board for the USA-Palestine Mental Health Network.

Webinar description: This webinar is meant to be accessible to a wide audience, highlighting the current mental health concerns affecting our community. Dr. Sheehi will center community-specific mental health concerns in response to the ongoing genocide, targeted violence across Palestine, and political repression in the United States. Dr. Sheehi will be answering pre-submitted questions and highlighting concrete mental health first aid skills to support our community.
