How to Play Old PS Games on PS5 (PS1, PS2, PS3 Games)

In this video, I walk you through how to play old PlayStation games on your PS5. While the PS5 is natively backwards compatible with PS4 games, allowing you to play them directly if you own a disc or digital copy, playing PlayStation 1, 2, and 3 games requires a different approach. These older titles aren't directly compatible, but you can still access them through a paid option: the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. I show you how to navigate to the PlayStation Plus section on your PS5, and explain the different subscription tiers you’ll encounter, including Essentials, Extra, and Premium.

To unlock the PlayStation 1, 2, and 3 classics catalog, you’ll need the Premium tier. Once subscribed, you’ll be able to browse and filter a wide variety of classic titles by genre, platform, and more. Although it requires an additional subscription fee, this method gives you access to a large library of beloved PlayStation classics right on your PS5.
