In this, part three of the tutorial for Blind Faith’s ‘Had To Cry Today’, we are looking at main riff, the harmony riff and the verses as played by the Second Guitar.

There is some hybrid picking in the verse section. It’s way down in the mix on the record, and not easy to hear, so I’ve raised the volume for the lesson. Note that it is significantly different from what Eric can be seen playing at the concert the band gave in Hyde Park, which was a much better option for the occasion, given that his was the only guitar.

In the next part we’ll analyse what the Second Guitar plays in the chorus.
