100 American Idioms in AI generated images

About the project: IDIOMS: A Celebration of Language and Artificial Intelligence

American idioms have been one of the reasons I love language.
Idioms are ridiculous, sometimes cruel, usually funny, often telling, occasionally antiquated, and offer a great window into the vocabulary of our language.

The idioms in this project were fed as text prompts into the AI image generation tool called Mid Journey. I kept the generated images untouched. Sometimes I chased the prompt deeper as I saw the results, but again, no post work was done on any images.

Some of the interpretations from the AI tool show a deep understanding of nuances of our language. Some are a little scary. Some don't make sense.
It's an interesting time for AI and art, and I'm glad to be a part of it all.

The soundtrack for: 'Idioms' was created on a eurorack modular synthesizer in a one-take improv. Only four modules were used. The Cloud Terrarium (Synthesis Technologies) was the oscillator being controlled by the SIG (Stochastic Instruments), being processed by the granular sandstorm of Mojave (Qu-Bit), and into Starlab (Strymon) for a final gloss.
