Phil Castellini, born in February 1970 in Cincinnati, Ohio, has become a prominent figure in the baseball world, particularly with his association with the Cincinnati Reds. As the son of Bob Castellini, who became the CEO of the Cincinnati Reds in 2006, Phil has had a significant role in the management of the team. Following in his father's footsteps, Phil was initially appointed as the Senior Director of Business Operations post the 2005 season and was later promoted to Senior Vice President of Business Operations in January 2007. By January 2008, he had ascended to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), a title he held until he was promoted to president and CEO in a 2024 front office shakeup.

In his roles, Phil oversees all ballpark and business operations, reporting directly to his father, Bob Castellini. Under his leadership, the Reds have seen notable increases in fan engagement, with record highs in revenue from ticket sales, corporate partnerships, merchandise, concessions, and special events. His tenure has also seen the expansion of Great American Ball Park's amenities, including more food and beverage options and retail locations to enhance the fan experience. Despite these achievements, Phil Castellini has not been without controversy. His public statements, particularly around the team's financial operations and player contracts, have sometimes drawn criticism from fans and media alike, especially when he described the Reds as operating like a "nonprofit" and his comments on the state of baseball as an industry.

Phil has also been active in community and civic roles, serving on various boards, including the Reds Community Fund where he helped develop funding for the P&G Cincinnati MLB Urban Youth Academy. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Entrepreneurial studies from Babson College and additional studies through the University of Pittsburgh’s Semester at Sea program.

Married to Britt Castellini, the couple has five children. Phil's career with the Reds, while marked by professional success, has also been punctuated by public relations challenges, reflecting the complex dynamics of managing a beloved sports franchise in the public eye.
