Western Gospel Music - Thunderstorms & Music of the Wild West ● 80 minutesEnnio Morricone began his career as a trumpet player in jazz bands in the 1940s, but always had his eye on composing (he wrote his first compositions at age six :-) He has composed over 500 scores for cinema and television and is considered by many the greatest film composer of all time. Not winning an Oscar for "The Mission" is considered a great injustice in Academy history. A 2012 Variety magazine poll of 40 working film composers, including Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino (“Up”) to Coen Brothers favorite Carter Burwell to Cliff Martinez (“Drive”), named "The Mission" the top film score of all time and "Once Upon a Time in the West" #6.

Luis Bacalov (1933-2017), Argentine-born Italian composer of Bulgarian descent, composed film scores for Spaghetti Westerns in the early days of his career. His music is a favorite of Quentin Tarantino, using five of Bacalov's compositions in his films "Kill Bill" and "Django Unchained". He won an Oscar in 1996 for "Il Postino".
