Perseverance Mars Rover got inside Martian rock using abrasive tool

On August 26, 2021 NASA’s Perseverance Rover used abrasive instrument onboard to get inside of Martian rock and determine whether it is good for drilling attempt. Rover also used SuperCam to look out of the big circular window – the white box on top of the mast. And it uses spectroscopy, which is just when light excites atoms in a rock and we get unique shifted wavelengths back to us. Combination of lasers and infrared vision lets scientists do science even further out than the robotic arm.
