Twenty-seven years after Argentina's Dirty War ended, a debate is raging over whether the state has the right to force a person to find out who their real parents are. The "Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo" was formed 33 years ago with the aim of finding an estimated 500 babies who were stolen from their imprisoned and subsequently murdered mothers during the country's military dictatorship. The group's goal has been to reunite the disappeared children with their biological families.
At Al Jazeera English, we focus on people and events that affect people's lives. We bring topics to light that often go under-reported, listening to all sides of the story and giving a 'voice to the voiceless.'
