Salus Smart Home Setup
Mee name is Allen Hart and in today's video I'm going to show you how to connect your Salus WLS600 smart water leak detector to your Salus smart home network. This is part of the Salus smart home range. The WLS600 is a water leak detector. It's used to detect leaks within the property or used for controlling bilge pumps for properties that are prone to flooding giving you a notification via the Salus smart home app. To start with what we're going to do is remove the front cover. So we'll just take it out of the little pouch that it's in. And we can twist the top off on there. You can see the battery. You can see a small plastic tab. To activate the battery all we need to do is remove this tab. It will then go into pairing mode. Go to your Salus smart home app on your phone or your PC. Tap the three lines.

Go to settings.

Set up equipment.

And then we need to scan for equipment.

That could take a couple of minutes. Your WLS600 will appear as water leak sensor on the screen. So we'll just click onto that. Click on to connect equipment. And then we can name the equipment. I'm going to name this washing machine.

And then we'll just click on next.

And then we'll just click on the finished tab.

That's now connected onto the smart home network. When you go back to the home screen you'll see the WLS600 is on the network. We just scroll up there and we can see that it's green. So green means it's inactive. And then if it went orange it means it went active. We can now place the unit inside the holder. So first of all I'll just screw that back together. There is a little button in there. And as you screw this on it makes it pushes that button in. So we'll just tighten that on.

And then back of there there's some little sensors on there. And in this pouch here we have a look in the pouch. We can see there's some lines. So this we need to make sure that that lines up as we push that in.

The WLS600 can detect water either from the contacts located on the bottom of the cradle just here.

So if that were on the floor and there were any water there that would detect the water. Or if we just take this out of the cradle just for a minute we can see we've got some little terminals inside. And it does come with a little lead.

And you can put this lead into there. You tighten those screws in that's inside there. And then you can just put this somewhere else remotely if you wanted to. And then as water passes over there that will make a contact and then that will sense and show you that you've got a water leak.

By default your water leak sensor is set up to give you an alert notification when a leak is detected. You can if you wish go a step further. You can connect your WLS600 to a smart plug or a smart relay on your smart home network to control other appliances. This can all be done using the one touch rules and we'll cover that in a future video.

That wraps up today's video. I hope you found it useful. If you've got any questions on the WLS600 or any of the Salus Smart Home product please leave a comment below. As always like, comment, subscribe all that good stuff and I'll see you in the next video
