Meet Raymond Loewy, the father of Industrial Design. With #RolfTheRoofingGuy

My professional path was an accident; my first passion was Industrial Design. Raymond Loewy, the father of the vocation—has long been my professional idol.

Loewy's career was astounding, ranging from creating iconic logos (Exxon, USPS) and cars (Studebaker), while maintaining an exhilarating personal life. A 48-year-old dream of mine was to see Loewy's Palm Springs house with its unique pool extending into the living room. This year I was able to make a pilgrimage to that very house. Work-life balance isn't about escaping work, but about intentionally carving out time to pursue the foundational interests that shaped who we are in the first place.
