The Ukrainian volunteers picking up guns to fight Russia - BBC News

In the east of Ukraine, where fighting is intensifying, the armed forces are increasing their efforts to train volunteers to reinforce those on the frontline.

Many of them have no military experience, but are being told: “Even if you have never picked up a gun in your life, your country needs you.'
